TS Galaxy hit with deja vu as poor start continues

TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic admits it feels like déjà vu after his side slumped to a third successive defeat in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign.

The Rockets were edged 1-0 by Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday night — the second time Babina Noko have beaten them this season, having also knocked Galaxy out of the MTN8 just two weeks ago.

Coming into the match at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Galaxy were already under pressure following a 2-0 league defeat to Durban City last weekend.

Beganovic, who replaced Sead Ramovic in November after a similarly poor start last season, admits history seems to be repeating itself, although he is confident of a quick turnaround.

"I hope we can turn this situation around and start collecting points. However, in this match, I felt as if we deserved more," said Beganovic.

The TS Galaxy coach insists that, even with the defeats, the team is showing positive signs that they can emerge from the blip.

"We don't have a lot of time to prepare between the matches, but I am proud of my player's efforts.

"We understood how Sekhukhune United wanted to play against us, and we adjusted tactically to close the space in the middle to allow us to launch quick counterattacks, but it just wasn't our night."

Beganovic adds that the FIFA ban imposed on Galaxy should have long been lifted after the club paid the monies owed.

The 42-year-old says it’s frustrating not to get an immediate response from FIFA.

"Trust me, everyone at the club, including the Chairman, is trying to resolve this situation, but i don't know what's happening because FIFA is not responding. We are talking about small amounts, and not millions."
