Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz yet to submit resignation letter after World Cup elimination

According to reports, Queiroz was appointed ahead of the global showpiece on a four-month contract with the remit of guiding his team to the quarter-finals.

Ghana ultimately lost 1-0 to Colombia in the round of 32 after emerging from a strong group containing England, Croatia and Panama.

Following the game, the former South Africa and Real Madrid manager posted a farewell message to the country, although his contract is said to run until August.

Sport and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams, however, told Joy News: "We have not received any resignation letter from the FA to that effect, and I don't take it that people resigned on social media.

"He wasn't appointed on social media, so I don't think that he resigned via social media.

"We have all been watching the games, and so we all appreciate that. We have not had the opportunity to engage him to get a detailed report. That report will surely come.

"And he's right when he says it's not just going to be on the pitch. There are off-pitch issues, and there are on-pitch issues also. I'm happy he has stated it clearly."

Queiroz posted online: "To Ghana,
