Chairman Tim Sukazi made the decisive call last week, ending Beganovic’s three-year spell after a damaging 10-match winless streak left the club staring at the threat of relegation.
Speaking ahead of the Nedbank Cup final against Durban City in Polokwane on Saturday night, Zindoga admitted the squad shares the burden of the team’s struggles.
"Look, I think it's part of football. It's unfortunate. We obviously grew a connection with our coaching staff, and we take responsibility – the eleven guys on the pitch – the guys in the stands - and on the bench," said Zindoga.
"We accept that it is our fault; we did let the gaffer down. We tried to execute the plans as much as possible. As footballers, we have to be professional; we have to always look forward. We wish them well, and obviously, we have to focus on our remaining games."
"We just have to be responsible as professional athletes, and as a club, we need to come together and go in a new direction and a new era."
Zindoga expects changes, albeit minimal, under interim coach Bernard Parker.
Teammate Mpho Mvelase agreed with Zindoga, adding that what is painful is Beganovic leaving before the Nedbank Cup final.
Skipper Mlungisi Mbunjana said the decision to let Beganovic go will prove to be the right – or wrong one – in hindsight.
