Parker calls for stability as TS Galaxy resist transfer shake-up

The Rockets have regularly lost key players during transfer windows, forcing them into rebuilding almost every campaign. 

With the transfer window remaining open until September 21, it is still unclear whether Galaxy will keep hold of their top talent, however, Parker is encouraged that there have been no major departures and hopes the squad remains intact as the Betway Premiership season gets underway.

"It's the first time in TS Galaxy history that we get to retain the core of the squad, and I was very precise with my meeting with the Chairman to say that we have to build on our foundation and build on how we finished last season.

"I also said to him we lacked depth last season because when you looked to the bench there weren't too many options to bring on, so this time around we are looking to get more players in."

Parker says this can be a blessing and a curse as expectations will rise given that Sukazi will expect the coach to build on last season. 

This will be Parker’s first full campaign in charge, and the former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana striker believes he is also paving the way for his peers.

"This means a lot to me as a young coach, it proves to me that I'm on the right track and that I know what I'm doing. I am embracing the support and trust from my chairman." 

Galaxy open their league campaign away to Siwelele FC at the Free State Stadium and Parker is confident they are up for the challenge.
