Papi Zothwane sees signs of progress after Sekhukhune’s difficult spell

There were concerns within the club following their MTN8 elimination and three consecutive defeats to Orlando Pirates across cup and Betway Premiership action, which ultimately led to Cedric Kaze’s departure.

Zothwane was promoted from his assistant coaching role to take charge, and a five-match unbeaten run has since strengthened his belief that Sekhukhune are moving in the right direction as they look to build momentum.

The coach opened up about how morale had dropped a few weeks ago and the work put in behind the scenes to change that self-doubt.

"We are going in the right direction, five games no loss is great for the team's confidence going forward. If you are not winning games, players start to lose belief, but slowly but surely we will get to where we want to go."

Sekhukhune’s latest feat was beating Richards Bay 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout at the weekend, with Zothwane bullish in revealing that this is a trophy Babina Noko want to win.
