Itumeleng Khune calls on Kaizer Chiefs to consider Elias Mokwana signing

The 27-year-old parted ways with Tunisian giants Espérance in September, while a proposed move to Moroccan outfit Wydad Athletic Club reportedly collapsed due to registration issues, leaving him available to join another club.

Khune believes the Bafana Bafana international is worth considering as Chiefs, under coach Fernando da Cruz, look to strengthen their squad.

"Mokwana reminds me of Jabu "Shuffle" back then because he is very skilful and he is not afraid to take on his defender. He can also create and score goals, not to mention his continental experience can be very useful for AmaKhosi because the youngsters can also look up to him for guidance."

Ex-Jomo Cosmos midfielder and resident Soccer Zone analyst Mark Haskins felt the same way, adding that Mokwana would have been ideal for any of the top sides in the Betway Premiership before going abroad.

"I like him and I believe that he can add value to that Kaizer Chiefs team, and I was shocked that he wasn't pursued by one of our local giants before he went abroad."
