Michael Olise faces race against time for Bayern's Atletico Champions League clash

Bayern Munich are sweating over the fitness of Michael Olise ahead of their Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday at Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium , with the French winger facing a race against time to be available.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Olise was at Bayern's Sabener Strasse training complex receiving treatment as he continues to struggle with a fitness problem.

The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo a fitness assessment on Monday, which will determine whether he is fit enough to travel to Madrid with the squad.

Bayern are prepared to wait for the results before making a final decision, but the club have no intention of rushing the winger back and risking a more serious injury.

Olise has become a key figure in Bayern's attack, making his potential absence another concern for the German champions as they deal with several injury problems.

Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari have also joined the absentee list following Bayern's 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund, leaving the club short of attacking options.

However, Bayern believe protecting Olise's long-term fitness is more important than having him available for a single Champions League fixture.
