The Guinea international has been among the Bundesliga's leading goalscorers over the past two seasons, finding the net 26 times in his first campaign before adding another 17 goals last season.
His finishing ability, strength in the air and knack for delivering in important moments have made him a key figure in Dortmund's attack. However, he has struggled to reproduce that form against Bayern.
Guirassy has faced Dortmund's biggest rivals five times since joining the club, across all competitions, without scoring or providing an assist.
He completed the full 90 minutes in his first two Bundesliga meetings with Bayern, with both matches ending in draws. His struggles continued during last season's visit to Munich, when he played 84 minutes without finding the net.
He also failed to make an impact in the return fixture in February 2026, while his appearance in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup in August ended after 63 minutes when he was replaced by Fabio Silva.
Guirassy's overall record against Bayern is equally concerning. He has scored just once in eight career appearances against the Munich giants, with that goal coming during a 2-2 draw while playing for Stuttgart in September 2022.
His difficulties against Bayern come at a time when his general goalscoring form in the Bundesliga has also dipped.
After scoring in each of Dortmund's opening two league matches against Hamburg and Hoffenheim, Guirassy has failed to score in his subsequent five appearances.
He has shown signs of rediscovering his scoring touch in other competitions, however, netting twice against Sabah FK in the Champions League before scoring the opening goal in Dortmund's 3-2 DFB-Pokal victory over Werder Bremen.
His Bundesliga tally remains at just two goals, leaving Dortmund hoping their leading striker can rediscover his best form.
That challenge becomes even more important as Dortmund prepare to face Bayern in Der Klassiker at the Allianz Arena tonight.
