When it comes to CAF inter-club competition experience, Maboe carries more than worth his weight, after his seven-year stint at Mamelodi Sundowns, where he campaigned in the CAF Champions League group stage every season.
Now in his third month since arriving at Amakhosi at the start of the 2025/26 season, the 31-year-old is remaining patient for his first start in the gold and black.
"I've settled in very, very well and I know my chance will come. The players that are playing, my teammates, are doing very well," said Maboe.
"And I know myself, I trust my abilities and it's just a matter of time. I know definitely my chance will come, but for me right now it's just to support the players that are playing and clap for others while I'm still waiting for my chance as well."
Maboe feels his experience could certainly come in handy, perhaps even in tomorrow’s CAF Confederation Cup Group D clash against Egyptian giants Zamalek at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
"I think in some games, it's going to come in very handy because I know how it feels playing away [from home], and I know the pressure of playing in this competition, especially," he added.
"As I said, the previous game in Egypt gave us a false sense of being in control, but we didn't convert the chances and score, but I know we will definitely grow in the tournament."
