Fans treated to three all-DStv Premiership Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clashes this weekend

Three Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clashes take place this weekend with sides fighting for the right to join Sundowns in the last four.

Stellenbosch v SuperSport United

Stellenbosch FC will be looking to continue their remarkable unbeaten run when they host SuperSport United at the Danie Craven Stadium on Saturday (15h00).

Stellies have not lost in their last 21 matches across all competitions. The Winelands outfit are flying high in second place on the DStv Premiership standings and are coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on April 2.

Steve Barker's side were given an almighty scare in the Round of 32 as they secured a nervy penalty shootout victory over Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies before smashing Kaizer Chiefs-slayers ABC Motsepe League side Milford FC 6-1 in the Round of 16.

SuperSport, meanwhile, have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions - a run that has seen them slip from second position to sixth in the league. Gavin Hunt's side sneaked past Cape Town City FC on penalties in the last 32 before a 3-1 win over Richards Bay in the round of 32 - which was their only win in their last eight.

Hunt came up against his close friend Barker on Feb 16 - a match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

AmaZulu v Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates will be looking to continue their remarkable Nedbank Cup record when they visit AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (18h00).

Pirates are on a nine-match unbeaten run in the competition, which is one of the longest streaks of such a nature in Nedbank Cup history. The Buccanneers truly are the cup kings and are holders of both the Nedbank Cup and MTN8.

The Sea Robbers will be high on confidence after annihilating Golden Arrows 7-1 in their last match - the second highest-winning margin in PSL history. Tshegofatso Mabasa scored a hat-trick in what will be a huge boost for his morale as he goes about filling the big boots of the injured Evidence Makgopa.

Meanwhile, Usuthu are coming off the back of a 1-0 away win over Cape Town City FC and occupy 12th position on the league table. Pablo Franco Martin's side had to battle past Royal AM and Sekhukhune United in the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 respectively.

The last time the sides met, which was in October last year, the match ended in a goalless draw.

TS Galaxy v Chippa United

TS Galaxy host Chippa United at the Mbombela Stadium in the last of the quarterfinals on Sunday.

Galaxy are looking for their second Nedbank Cup trophy after famously beating Kaizer Chiefs in the 2018-19 final courtesy of a memorable Zakhele Lepasa penalty. The Rockets are riding high in fifth on the DStv Premiership standings.

Sead Ramovic's side will also be buoyed by the fact they made it to the inaugural Carling Cup Knockout final, which they lost to Stellenbosch.

Meanwhile, Chippa are coming off the back of a 2-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs on April 6 - a match overshadowed by the tragic death of Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs, who was shot and killed in an attempted hijacking in Honeydew, Johannesburg.

The last time the sides met Galaxy won 2-0 on December 30.
