Kaze was speaking after Amakhosi’s 2-0 win over bottom-placed Magesi FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium last night, a result that gave their hopes of a top-three finish a significant boost.
Goals from academy graduates Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi secured all three points for Chiefs.
Despite the positive results, Kaze believes it is important for the team to remain level-headed.
"I always believe that the difficulty we went through as well were conditioned by a lot of injuries that we had, a lot of suspensions but when you have important players that are coming and playing regularly, playing two, three, four games in a row that gives the stability that we are looking for,” Kaze said.
“I would say that we are technicians. We knew why we were in a difficult situation and the good thing is everyone stayed calm and from now we need to stay calm and not get euphoric because we won two games. We need to work very hard and to keep the momentum."
The victory over Magesi was also notable for another reason. It was the first time Chiefs had scored two goals in a league match since November last year, when they beat Orbit College 4-1 at FNB Stadium.
For Duba, it was a particularly important moment.
The striker opened his account for the season after 15 appearances in all competitions, and Kaze says the goal could be a huge confidence booster for the young player.
"It's a very good performance from him today and we want players that challenge for each position and he's a very important player. He's a player that has shown his quality since last season and we need him and sometimes you sleep on what you have done and probably in the moment you don't do enough to keep improving but I believe that he's coming back,” the coach added.
“The goal that he scored is what we ask, that's why we didn't even play him as a striker because we feel that when he comes from a further position he can get into the box and have more space to finish because he's fast, he can run and we believe that coming from a further position he could get inside the box and make things happen."
With 10 matches still remaining in the campaign, Kaze was also asked whether leaving at the end of the season would feel like unfinished business at Chiefs. This is how he responded.
"I don't believe that there is unfinished business today, there are 11 games left and there are a lot of things to do until the end of the season. Thank you."
