The Motaung family is very supportive - Austin Dube on Kaizer Chiefs

Dube rejoined Natal Rich Boyz earlier this month following a disappointing spell with Kaizer Chiefs which saw him struggle to get game time for two seasons.  

The defender says he will never regret his time at Naturena. He praised the Chiefs hierarchy for their treatment of him and the whole squad.

"I am very strong mentally, professional, and understood the position I was in. It did not kill me, instead, I came back with lessons and I do not regret my time at Kaizer Chiefs" Dube told SABC Sport at Princess Magogo Stadium during KZN Premiers Cup on Sunday evening.

"The Motaung family is very supportive, they have humanity. They always give you hope and encouragement, especially during your difficulties. I will always be grateful to them." 

Dube insists lack of game time had nothing to do with personal feelings, he understood that it was mainly a football decision by coaches.

"I was not told what was lacking, it was just a football decision, nothing personal. I have to be honest; it was not meant to be for me, the timing of my move was not a good one."

They were competing in the second division when he left the KwaZulu Natal outfit. The defender says the club has improved from 2021 and revealed he had other offers in the DSTV Premiership.

"I am very happy to be back home, home is where you find love after difficulties. Richards Bay has given me a warm welcome," he added.

"I had offers from other clubs, but I chose Richards Bay FC, because of my love for them," he explained.

"They are better than the last time I was playing here. They have improved and I'm happy to be part of this team."
