Selaelo Rasebotja lauds Orlando Pirates support amid injury setback

Orlando Pirates midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja has praised the support he has received since his injury setback last season as he looks to fight his way back to form.

The 24-year-old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in May, and underwent surgery which has kept him sidelined ever since.

Now Rasebotja is raring to go again as the second half of season is set to resume, with the six-week Africa Cup of Nations break having also aided his window of rehabilitation.

"I've received a lot of support from the club's medical and technical teams, they've been behind me since the day I came out of surgery. They've helped me keep my mind sane throughout this process, which will help me return to the pitch in good form."

Pirates return to action with a Betway Premiership fixture against Sekhukhune United next Saturday, 24 January, and Rasebotja says everyone is ready to push for the remaining four months of action.

"We are happy to be back. We are currently in camp in Rustenburg, and everyone is working hard and showing a great attitude behind the scenes. We can't wait for the football to start again."

Having been dumped out of the CAF Champions League early on, the Buccaneers are still on course for a quadruple after claiming the MTN8 and Carling Knockout cups, and 'Iniesta' says the Nedbank Cup and Betway Premiership is next on their hit list.

There's been some movement in the Bucs camp in recent days, with the arrival of Marumo Gallants duo Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane, while Monnapule Saleng also swapped the black and white for the canary yellow of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The former SuperSport United attacker shared his thoughts on these movements.

"I think the signings are great acquisitions for the club, and they add to the depth we already have. In terms of Saleng, everyone has choices to make in life, we wish him all the best and he served the club well when he was given the chance to be on the pitch."
