Appollis, who joined the Buccaneers last month after spending two seasons at the Limpopo-based club, is set to face his former teammates for the first time.
Sibisi believes the encounter marks the beginning of a promising journey for the Bafana Bafana international.
"A quality player, Oswin is going to add to what we already have and I think it's going to be a special game for him to play against his former team," said Sibisi.
"And I think he's looking forward to winning titles also with us, and [the journey] starts on Saturday against his former team."
All eyes will also be on another new signee, Sipho “MasterChef” Mbule, who comes into this fixture with some excitement from the Bucs fans, having seen him in action during their pre-season, and Sibisi has a message for the Ghost.
"There's no reason not to be happy [with Mbule's arrival], he's coming to win titles with us and he's another quality player to mention," he added.
"He's the Master Chef, so we know what he's capable of and I think we'll all get to witness another Sipho Mbule at Pirates."
Having won this trophy for the past three seasons running, Pirates will be looking to advance to the two-legged semi-finals in a season when a lot of expectations will be on the club to challenge not just for cups, but for the league as well.
"The team has adapted quite well, I think everyone saw a glimpse of what we're trying to do during our pre-season games in Spain, and now it's the real test.
"Those were trials, so now it's the real test on Saturday, but we are confident of how we are going to perform [against City] and hopefully we'll get the result at home."
