Reports linked Seema with an appointment in a senior role at Bantu FC, with the team itself releasing a statement that the 44-year-old would be working alongside their head coach Charles Manda “for the remainder of the season”.
However, speaking to SABC Sport from Maseru, the ex-Orlando Pirates captain said there was some confusion.
“No, I have not signed a contract with the club. I am merely helping them because this is a team close to my heart. Bloemfontein Celtic signed me when I was playing here all those years ago,” Seem explained.
“I am currently unattached, and they asked me if I could be part of the technical team and help for six games, and I agreed with the understanding that if anything comes up, I can leave immediately.”
Seema was fired by Sekhukhune United in early March with Eric Tinkler taking his place and the coach has been available for another gig since.
“I will be returning to Johannesburg in the next few weeks, and I am still very keen to work in the Premier Soccer League,” said the coach who has previously been at Golden Arrows, Chippa United, and Black Leopards.
Bantu FC also later corrected their own statement around Seema’s role at the club for the rest of the campaign.
“Mr. Seema’s engagement with the club is on a temporary basis as he remains open to pursuing other professional opportunities,” it read.
