Davis Raya targets Arsenal team trophies across four fronts

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has said personal awards matter less than trophies as his strong performances and key saves have helped keep the club competitive across competitions.

The Spain international has been in excellent form, collecting key clean sheets and winning the Premier League Save of the Month award for December 2025 after a stunning stop against Brighton's Yankuba Minteh. It marked his third career win in the category, placing him among the most successful goalkeepers since the award began in 2022-23.

Raya's consistency has been a major factor in Arsenal's defensive strength, having also won the Premier League Golden Glove in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

Arsenal are active in four major competitions this season. They sit top of the Premier League after 24 matches, holding a slim lead over Manchester City. In domestic cups, the Gunners have reached the EFL Cup Final after beating Chelsea 4-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals and are in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, set to face Wigan Athletic after defeating Portsmouth in the third round. In Europe, Arsenal finished the Champions League group stage in January and have advanced to the Round of 16.

Despite personal recognition, Raya stressed that team success remains his priority. "The mood is incredible," he said. "We know how we are playing and how we are doing, even during tough moments with injuries. Everyone should be proud."

He credited supporters for Arsenal's strong home record, adding: "The fans give us that extra edge. When we are at home we want to win every game for them."

Raya also highlighted the collective effort behind every clean sheet. "Clean sheets are the consequence of the whole team doing the right things. If you don't concede goals it's easier to win games and fight for titles."

Now 30, the goalkeeper believes he is reaching his peak. "This is the season I feel most comfortable and confident," he said. "With experience and understanding of the style here, I can express myself and help the team."

With Arsenal pushing for honours on all fronts, Raya's focus is clear - personal accolades are welcome, but lifting trophies with the squad is the ultimate prize.
