Cedric Kaze addresses Kaizer Chiefs future

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has given a strong hint that their stay at the club next season is not guaranteed yet and says that a big club like Amakhosi would have received over 100 CVs by now.

Responding to a question about whether they have done enough yet to convince management that they can take over full-time next season, Kaze says they want to produce good results till the end of the season.

Kaze and his co-coach Khalil Ben-Youssef have their contracts expiring at the end of the season, and he says they want to leave the club in a better place.

"Kaizer Chiefs is a big brand, every coach dreams of coming to Kaizer Chiefs, every coach. I'm pretty sure that they've received 100s of CVs but we are here today, we are working for the biggest club in South Africa, it's an honour,” Kaze said.

“The only thing we want to do is to do our best, to leave this club in a better place than it was before and I'm not worried about next season. I'm just worried about tomorrow's [Sunday's] game."

Kaze says they haven’t met their expectations yet either.

This is despite the club being in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and achieving 30 points from 15 matches in the league.

Kaze says they haven’t met their targets yet.

"I'd say that for me personally to assess myself today I wouldn't say that I'm in the right direction, I'm in the right direction but I haven't met the objectives that I should have met because if I was in my shoes, I should be first on the log, that's the first thing. Which means that I'm a little bit not ahead of what I'm supposed to do," the coach added.
