Da Cruz had already declared during his first press conference at the club’s Village in Naturena that he’s looking to bolster the team’s attack, with at least four new players.
Last season, Chiefs’ leading goalscorer in the league was Flavio Silva with eight goals.
Da Cruz says they are looking for someone, who will come in and complement the Guinea-Bissau international striker...
"Every coach wants a striker who will score goals - that should be the first and most important quality of a striker, like we see with Flavio Silva. I want another finisher."
Da Cruz has previously indicated the positions that he would like to see the team strengthen in the attack; two wingers, an attacking midfielder, and a striker.
The Frenchman is happy with the steps that the AmaKhosi management have taken to address this, with Stellenbosch FC and SA U20 international flying winger Langelihle Phili believed to be the first player who will be coming in to fill one of these roles...
"I'm in constant discussion with the management about this topic, but I alsondon't want to recruit a player just for the sake of recruiting. I am very happy with the squad, but I still think we can add one or two more different profiles of players."
Da Cruz says they are bracing themselves for a challenging game against Kruger United, a team that will be eager to prove they belong in the big league.
Kruger have already said that Chiefs will not be a closed book to them, also boasting that they have video footage of their last three matches. Da Cruz says equally on their side, they are coming to this game well-armed and have done their own research on the newly promoted side.
