The Jaguars secured eight points to finish second on the log after registering four wins from six matches in the opening leg of the competition.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Rathethe says the team will regroup and refine their approach ahead of the second leg.
“I am proud of the ladies’ performance. We have a young team, and the sky is the limit. We lost only two games, which is a big improvement from last year - it shows the team is growing," said Rathethe.
"Going into the second leg, we will go back to the drawing board and work on what didn’t work this time around. We will focus more on our attacking play and improving our strategies."
The Gauteng side suffered a 56–36 defeat to the Free State Crinums in their final match at the Durban University of Technology, and Rathethe acknowledged that the Crinums have been the standout team in the first leg.
“I would like to congratulate the Crinums for a great game and for finishing top of the log. The match was a good display of quality netball, and they were the better team," she added.
"We made too many unforced errors, which put us under pressure from the start."
The 34-year-old mentor also praised the support the team received in KwaZulu-Natal.
"Durban was amazing. The atmosphere was incredible, and we really enjoyed the environment. To our supporters, thank you for the love, support and encouragement,” Rathethe concluded.
