University of Johannesburg Ladies aiming for maximum points against Copperbelts FC

University of Johannesburg Ladies coach Nthabeleng “Dunga” Modiko says they look to give their best when they host Limpopo’s Copperbelts FC in their Hollywoodbets Super League clash at UJ Soweto Stadium on Saturday.

UJ comes into the fixture on the back of a 1-0 defeat to JVW, and look to regain some form to wrap up the first quarter of the league.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Modiko says they want to ensure that they gather as many points as possible in the early stages of the league.

"We just want to ensure that we get good results for the club and we also want to gather as many points as possible. This is another opportunity for us to play good football and play against a very good side that is also quality in its own right,” Modiko said.

“So, I think not so much of expectations but I think we are planning on giving it our best. It's always a desire for us to always try and run on behalf of UJ and play for UJ and give the best out of ourselves to the game."

The two sides are even with 13 points on the log, with the students leading on goal difference.

Modiko says they want to focus on getting maxing points instead of games and goals they have in hand.

"A lot of teams are doing everything possible to try and get as many points as many goals as ever but for us, yes, the goal difference, yes, it plays a major role for us but we are also looking to solidify the game by getting maximum points instead of focusing mostly on the goals that we have in hand or an upper hand against our opponent.

“So, we'll go all out."
