Sibusiso Themba says Tuks should stick to game plan against DK Ladies

University of Pretoria coach Sibusiso Themba says sticking to their game plan will be key as they target maximum points against Diepkloof Ladies in their Hollywoodbets Super League clash on Friday.

Following a draw against Copperbelts FC in their previous outing, Tuks will be looking to return to winning ways when they face DK Ladies at Wits Football Stadium.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Themba expects a tough encounter against a side fighting to avoid relegation.

“We are honestly expecting a tough game against DK Ladies, but we’ve been preparing well. We’ll go out there, stick to our game plan, and do our best to get the three points. Even though we are slightly higher on the log, they will still not be an easy team to beat,” said Themba.

Tuks have won six of their 11 matches and sit second in the Hollywoodbets Super League - Super Era division with 20 points. Themba believes his team is making progress but acknowledges there is still room for improvement.

“I think the team has been doing well so far, and we’ve had some good and of course bad moments this season. I believe we’re moving in the right direction, but there are still things we can improve on. We just need to keep working hard, growing as a team, and giving our very best in every game,” added Themba.

The coach is also encouraged by the growing understanding among his players, with their combinations beginning to take shape in an increasingly competitive league.

“The league has been quite competitive and challenging, with every team bringing something different. I think our combinations are getting better with each game, and the more we play together, the better we understand each other on the pitch. There’s still some work to do, but we’re building a good understanding as a team,” he expressed.
