Same old problems for Kaizer Chiefs despite Richards Bay win

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is still battling the same old problems as he will be forced to reshuffle the team again in the Nedbank Cup round of 16.

Following a narrow 1-0 victory over Richards Bay in the DStv Premiership on Saturday, the Glamour Boys mentor now has to replace striker Christian Saile, whose yellow card means he will miss the upcoming fixture against Casric Stars in the cup.

Amakhosi were already without another forward in Ashley Du Preez after he did not pass a late fitness test to travel.

"We still have a long way to go. You must have seen today we started without Ash (Ashley Du Preez). Next week we will be starting without probably Zitha (Macheke) won't be available, Christian (Saile) won't be available because of suspension so we are struggling to keep a consistent line up so that we can build on it, we are really struggling with that," he said.

Another one of Chiefs’ downfall at the King Zwelithini Stadium was failing to kill off the game when Richards Bay went a man down in the first half.

But Zwane credits the players for holding on.

"The positive thing is to come here at King Zwelithini to play a team that has been doing very well and grind results. We will build on it going forward. I must give credit to the boys though I believe we could have done better in terms of taking the chances we created," he concluded.
