The U20 men’s national team landed in the country on Tuesday morning following their 1-0 victory over Morocco to clinch the continental youth tournament which carries a R3.6-million prize money.
As expected, Jordaan was asked how this amount would be spent and whether the players would get a share.
The SAFA boss says it’s not that simple.
"We have not received any money from CAF yet and when we have the money we will decide. One thing that we know and that you know, South African football has not missed a single international match,” Jordaan said.
“We comply with our commitments, we even played in CHAN. In the past we didn't play in CHAN, we played in CHAN. We played in every single competition under FIFA and that means travel, accommodation, travel allowance, everything and we fulfilled our commitments.
“There’s great respect to what South African football has achieved and when you speak to the other federations, you'll just see admiration and support for the programs South African football has made. We'll continue to work hard to achieve the ultimate goal, to get one of our teams to win the World Cup."
Jordaan also pleaded with PSL clubs to avail players that coach Raymond Mdaka was forced to leave behind after their teams withdrew them.
He hopes the lure of playing at the World Cup will open the door.
"This U20 team together with the players who were not there and we hope that we'll have a full preparation and if we give the coach all of the possibilities in terms of player availability, including those who play in Europe, Shandre Campbell and Mbokazi [Mbekezeli] and Mabena [Siyabonga].
“Then we know we'll have a team that can compete with the best in the world and we look forward to Chile and the World Cup."
