Richards Bay win in Dobsonville still giving Steve Komphela sleepless nights

Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela admits he’s had a hard time getting over the narrow 1-0 loss to Richards Bay in the DStv Premiership last month ahead of the two sides meeting again in a cup tie this afternoon.

The Dube Birds are away this time as the Natal Rich Boys host them at the King Zwelithini Stadium for a spot in the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout Cup.

Komphela says that the result proved Richards Bay are not to be underestimated.

"When we played them at Dobsonville they are one of the teams that beat us and that on its own sends a very strong message with regards to their capability. Obviously, it's amazing what the announcement or the launch has done to the players. Everybody will be prepared to go in and battle it out, try get to the next round," Komphela said.

The Swallows mentor picked out attacker Somila Ntsundwana as one of Richards Bay’s danger men.

"They very direct on top, they pose serious threats. One of the players who really gave us a hard time was Ntsundwana, he's quite powerful, he's good on one-on-ones, the profile physically gives him the opportunity to be more of a central attacker but they opt to play him wide on the left. He does drift inside given an opportunity and I enjoyed the one-on-one between him and Keenan Philips," explained Komphela.

Komphela is relishing a second bite at taking on his counterpart Kaitano Tembo, whose side has not won a match since beating Swallows on 15 September.

"Great guy, reputable, a fighter and obviously he would wish to repeat what happened at Dobsonville but we need to revenge. Whatever happened at Dobsonville, I'm sure it can be undone."
