This follows the Limpopo-based side’s official announcement confirming that Matlou has left Spanish outfit SD Eibar to return home and join her hometown club.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Maseko says they are looking forward to seeing the most-capped Banyana Banyana player bring her experience and leadership to the squad as they aim to strengthen their presence in the domestic league.
“Noko Matlou returned to South Africa after a four-year spell in Spain with SD Eibar and CP Cacereño in the Primera Federación. As Ramatlaohle Ladies Football Club, a Limpopo-based Hollywoodbets Super League side, we decided to make the move to sign her for the 2026/27 season.
“We feel honoured to have acquired her signature. She is South African football royalty with the most caps for Banyana Banyana. We look forward to seeing her push the team to greater heights,” said Maseko.
Maseko further outlined Matlou’s expected role within the squad...
“I’m expecting on-field leadership from Noko as a defender. She brings defensive organisation, composure, and reading of the game, which will greatly benefit Ramatlaohle.
“Off the field, her main value is as a mentor and role model. The club expects her to guide the team to greater heights and instill professionalism, work ethic, and resilience in young players,” added Maseko.
Maseko says the club’s target as newcomers in the Hollywoodbets Super League is to play competitive football and secure their status in the topflight.
