The Brazilians have once again reached the continental showpiece finale – this time against Moroccan outfit AS FAR, after falling short against Egyptian rivals Pyramids in last year’s final.
Kekana believes Sundowns have learnt valuable lessons heading into Sunday’s decisive second leg in Rabat.
"I think the team is good, everyone is hyped up and we know what's at stake on Sunday, and I think mentally we are in a good place," said Kekana.
"We're trying to just fix a few things so that we go there on Sunday fully prepared, but the boys are up for it.
"Obviously we've learnt from [the past final], it's all experience at the end of the day but we're not too focussed on what could have been done back then, we're focussed on the future and the present.
"And I think that being our main focus, we don't want any distractions or any negativity surrounding us, and we want to go into the game as positive as possible."
Sundowns’ trip to Morocco was made longer by a landing permit saga which robbed them of a full day’s preparation earlier in the week, but Kekana, while obviously aware of the mind games, preferred keeping his outlook positive.
"Whatever happened, happened, it was part of the experience and journey for us being here, and right now we're just being as positive as possible," he added.
"We just want to leave everything on the field, but the mood in camp has been very good, the guys are motivated for Sunday, and ours is to do what we have been preparing for, and hopefully God is on our side."
