Ndlovu is one of three new signings at Chloorkop this season after an impressive 2025/26 campaign with Golden Arrows and the winger has already established himself as a fan favourite after just a handful of appearances.
While Cardoso understands the excitement surrounding Ndlovu, the coach has urged caution, warning against creating excessive hype that could distract the player as he continues adapting to life at Sundowns.
"Our job as coaches is to create the necessary conditions for the players to be consistent. Siyanda has played a lot of PSL matches already and he is an exciting youngster, but I also remember last year when we had so much excitement around Mabena but he wasn't as consistent as we had hoped for."
Cardoso pointed out areas of growth for Ndlovu.
"We have a lot of expectations for Siyanda, although his match fitness is still developing and his understanding of the team is still developing. Offensively, he can bring that magic, but defensively he has a lot of inconsistencies."
According to the coach, the Sundowns technical team sees lots of possibilities where Ndlovu can be a match winner – just as the fans have predicted.
Ndlovu turns 23 next month and Cardoso strongly believes he is one for the future and his career can have longevity with proper guidance away from crowd pressure.
