This follows Amakhosi’s official launch of their women’s side, which will participate in the Sasol League after acquiring the status of the Kwa-Thema-based outfit, Springs Home Sweepers.
Speaking to SABC Sport, Makhabane expressed confidence that the club’s presence will not only elevate the profile of the league but also open doors for increased sponsorship opportunities for other teams.
"I think Kaizer Chiefs will bring serious professionalism and more sponsors will come on board now that Kaizer Chiefs have joined women's football, and the exposure of the league will be much better as well."
The veteran defender, who parted ways with TS Galaxy at the end of last season’s Hollywoodbets Super League as a free agent, also shared insight into how her move to the Glamour Girls came about.
"I was a free agent after TS Galaxy. I was told about the whole plan and I was really interested in joining the team. I wasn't playing last season and now I have the chance to play.
"For me, this is a big opportunity to play again so I'm very happy."
Makhabane says being part of the first generation of the club’s women’s team is a proud and historic moment in her career.
She adds that her experience will play a key role within the squad, as she looks to guide and inspire younger players as they develop their careers.
