On the final day of the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa event, the Minister, alongside LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil, Southern Guards GC General Manager Richard Glover and Steyn City Properties CEO, Steven Louw, confirmed that the event will take place from 22 – 25 April 2027, once again at The Club at Steyn City.
An emotional Mckenzie says the event showcased the country in a way he had never seen before.
"LIV Golf showcased our country like nothing I've ever seen. I'm very emotional because this man believed in some minister that went to go see him and say 'listen, you have to bring this to South Africa'
"Everybody has been asking me, LIV Golf is coming back next year. South Africans, get your tickets for next year!"
LIV Golf CEO, Scott O’Neil reflected on the four days of LIV Golf South Africa, saying the country understands the power and impact of sport, adding that several moments brought him to the brink of tears.
"South Africa, maybe more than any place on the planet understands the power and impact of sport. Sport brings people, communities, and countries together to celebrate.
"We're so blessed to have the Southern Guards, led by Richard Glover and all the incredible work he's done, and then Louis, Charl, Gracie, and Dean, who wear the flag on the back of their kit as a reminder of the love and passion they have for being South African."
Steven Louw, CEO of Steyn City Properties, said hosting the inaugural league event on African soil, and securing its return in 2027, is both an honour and a milestone of real significance for Steyn City.
Tickets for LIV Golf South Africa 2027 officially went on sale on Sunday, 22 March, and will be available until Sunday, 29 March for a limited early-bird period via LIVGOLF.com.
