Janine van Wyk confirms JVW FC plans following Sweden move

JVW FC boss Janine van Wyk has confirmed that she will maintain her role as head of coaches, despite starting a new journey with Swedish club Kristianstads DFF in 2026.

Kristianstads announced that she will be pursuing her first coaching job abroad after acquiring her UEFA B coaching license three years ago.

Speaking to SABC Sport, Van Wyk says she will remain active within the JVW operations, albeit remotely.

"Yes, I'll be very much hands on with the club, not only the team, remotely, of course –that's the best I can do, but I am head of coaches, so I still direct the coaches in the development," said van Wyk.

"I still ask for reports on their games, their training sessions, and I still give them directions. I'm still just a phone call or text away to be able to communicate with them.

"Nowadays you have Google Meets and Teams meetings, and to be able to still hold conversations and I think that will operate on its own, but I'll still be available as much as I can be, while not being there full time."

Van Wyk also explained the direction the team will be taking in the Hollywoodbets Super League next season, as she plans to retain the core of the squad to allow the team to maintain its good form into the new campaign.

"With the direction the team is heading towards next season, it's trying to keep the core group of the team together once again for another season," she added.

"And I don't want to make too many changes because I feel like this season has been quite a successful one."
