'It's very special' - Jude Bellingham celebrates 50-goal Real Madrid milestone

Jude Bellingham reached a significant personal milestone after scoring his 50th goal for Real Madrid in their convincing 3-0 victory over Racing Santander.

The England midfielder marked the achievement in his fourth season at the Spanish giants, adding another landmark to an impressive spell since joining from Borussia Dortmund.

Speaking to Real Madrid's official media after the match, Bellingham described the moment as special but stressed that the team's success remained his priority.

"It's very special to reach 50 goals for Real Madrid. Not just for me and my dreams, but also for the team," he said.

"It's very important that all the players score goals and make a difference in matches.

"Sometimes it'll be Mbappe, Vini Jr., Arda Guler or me, but the important thing is that everyone helps the team. That's what matters most."

Bellingham also praised Yan Diomande after the youngster produced an impressive finish to make it 3-0 before half-time.

The midfielder admitted he had been surprised by the quality of the strike but was clearly impressed by the youngster's ability.

"It was an incredible goal. I didn't know he could shoot like that, but he's very good. The goal against Leipzig was brilliant too," Bellingham said.

"He's a special player and we're very happy to have him in our squad."

The victory was particularly important for Real Madrid as they looked to build on their recent success at the Camp Nou against Barcelona.

Bellingham was pleased with the team's performance but insisted their attention had already shifted to their next fixtures.

"We played really well. It was very important to win after our victory at the Camp Nou, so we're very happy," he said.

"Now the most important thing is the next match. The win against Barcelona was great and today's was too, but now our focus is on the next match against Athens and then against Valencia.

"Nobody's thinking any further ahead than that."

The midfielder also highlighted the importance of keeping a clean sheet, explaining that defensive organisation was a responsibility shared by the entire squad.

Bellingham said the manager regularly reminded the players about the need to defend collectively, while acknowledging the importance of the work done by the defenders and goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin.

"It's something the manager always tells us. It's down to the whole team, but I think it's a bit more special and important for the defenders, Courtois or Lunin," he said.

"It's very important for them because it means they're playing really well and very competitively."

Real Madrid will now turn their attention to Wednesday's UEFA Champions League trip to AEK Athens before returning to domestic action against Valencia.
