It’s understood Monyane has not put pen to paper on a new agreement with The Buccaneer, but unclear whether this is due to the two parties not finding each other on personal terms of if Pirates are ready to release the player.
What the public broadcaster has gathered, however, is that Monyane has been offered to Amakhosi as a free agent.
Monyane saw his minutes dimmish during the 2024/25 season following the arrival of Deano van Rooyen from Stellenbosch FC.
The former junior international was also not helped by injuries despite being admired at the club having come from their academy ranks.
Monyane was promoted to the Pirates senior team in 2019 and was closing in on almost a century of matches for the Soweto giants.
But it now appears as though his time could be over as it is believed the player’s camp has held talks with Chiefs to potentially bring him to Naturena effective 1 July as a free agent next season.
Monyane only managed 12 games in the campaign that has just finished and Pirates have already acquired another young right back in Tshepho Mashiloane, while they still have Van Rooyen and Bandile Shandu.
Chiefs on the other hand have relied on Reeve Frosler and Dillon Solomons in that position with Zitha Kwinika as cover.
It now remains to be seen whether the Glamour Boys will pounce and take Monyane from their bitter rivals or if Pirates will reconsider and offer Monyane a new deal before 30 June.
