Parker stepped into the role under immense pressure, following a 10-match winless run that left the club staring at the threat of relegation, forcing chairman Tim Sukazi to dismiss Adnan Beganovic with five matches remaining.
Speaking after Galaxy’s pulsating Betway Premiership victory in Nelspruit, Parker credited the turnaround to thorough preparation.
"For us, when I took over with the blessing of the chairman, it was to make sure that the players get back to their best. In such a short space of time, we managed to do a great job," said Parker
"For us to win such a massive game here at home – our last at home – is something big. It is also a calling as well that we've got what it takes, and we can attract more supporters here at Mbombela Stadium."
"The most important thing that we have done is tap into the players' mentality in terms of psyching them up psychologically, making them feel important again and helping them believe in themselves again
It's just unfortunate that we lost the final. If the final had happened this week, it would have been a different story, also not having time due to back-to-back matches in terms of preparation.
Parker revealed that the decision to take a risk with youthful players paid off.
Asked where he thought the title will end up after denting Sundowns’ hopes, Parker was on the fence – stressing that everyone is fighting for something.
Parker also argued that Galaxy had the match under control having gone 2-0 up and almost allowed Sundowns back in.
