Mamelodi Sundowns must end TS Galaxy hoodoo – Themba Zwane

It was at the same Mbombela Stadium last season where Sundowns’ hopes of retaining the league title suffered a major blow after a 3-2 defeat to Galaxy handed the advantage to eventual champions Orlando Pirates.

Galaxy have proved to be a troublesome opponent for Sundowns in recent meetings, and Zwane says they must find a way to overcome that hurdle. 

"To be honest, we have to win against them because I think every time they play against us they give us a hard time. We know it's not going to be easy but we will fight for all three points."

The skipper added that having faced Galaxy three times last season and losing twice, they are still an open book.

"Upon our arrival in Mpumalanga, we got to watch a recent TS Galaxy game so we know what to expect. Especially after what happened in our last game against them at this stadium."

Sundowns had two of their newest signings in Antonio van Wyk and the returning Cassius Mailula score on debut in the MTN8 and Zwane believes they will help elevate the side this season. 

Mshishi also extended gratitude to the PSL for granting them the request to extend their pre-season by postponing what was meant to be their league opener against Marumo Gallants two weeks ago.
