Adnan Beganovic welcomes Kayode Bankole to spark goalkeeper competition

The Rockets confirmed the arrival of the 23-year-old shot-stopper on a free transfer from Remo Stars, the same side facing Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League preliminary round this month.

Beganovic explained that strengthening the goalkeeping department was essential to keep standards high across the squad.

"You know he's actually with us maybe one and a half months, all this time he's been with us, he's been quality and then we try to find a second keeper who can be competition to the first keeper,” Beganovic said.

“We always try to have in the same position, similar players who can fight for that position and then I don't like when I have one player in the same position and then that players can rest, can train, they become a little bit soft. 

“In the training session I want to have competition and then you know, only when we have that, we can improve more, we can push both players to improve more, to push more and then in the end we can improve and have quality."

The Bosnian mentor adds that it’s important for every player to maintain their best form.

"If you train, if he thinks like that but it's hard work, trust me, it's not only luck I think it's behind us in these nine games. It's hard work I think but we like it. We want to push more and I think TS Galaxy, until now, plays good football,” the coach added.

“We want to present good football and then we always play to score one more goal and then until I'm here, we want to play like that. To play football for one goal more and also to produce young players."
