Abdeslam Ouaddou committed to Bafana Bafana AFCON support

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou says they are fully committed serving the national team as The Buccaneers dominate the 25-man Bafana Bafana squad headed to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Pirates boast the biggest representation with nine players in coach Hugo Broos’ side set to jet off to Morocco later this month.

The former Morocco national team captain says they are always happy to serve the national team at all times.

"First of all, we are proud as a club, and I'm proud as a coach for my players, to be so well represented in the ational team," said Ouaddou.

"As I've told you before in some press conference that Orlando Pirates is a club that's working for the nation, we are very bold [supporters] of the national team and we are very bold [supporters] of the coach of the national team.

"So of course when we see such number of players, we just want to wish them all the best, but before that, we have a target this week and after that we will wish them good luck for the AFCON."

Barely six months into the Pirates’ job, Ouaddou is leading the team to a second cup final as they continue their preparations for Saturday’s Carling Knockout showdown with Marumo Gallants, and he’s delighted with his good start at the club.

"I'd just like to thank my player and thank my staff, first of all, and thank the club because it's a collective effort – I always say we are getting results altogether," he added.

"But just to judge this work until now, I think it's too early, but I can just tell you that we are aligned with the targets of the club, and we are doing our job, that's it.

"We will continue to work hard hard in order to reach the targets of the club and for our fans as well."
