Jack Crowley gets the nod as Ireland and All Blacks name teams for Chicago showdown

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell has revealed his matchday 23 for their massive clash against the All Blacks in Chicago, with Jack Crowley getting the nod at 10 over Sam Prendergast.

The Irish are hoping to recreate their famous triumph from nine years ago when they once again face the All Blacks in the Windy City, and Farrell has opted to reward Crowley with the starting flyhalf berth after his Man of the Match performance in Munster's 31-14 bonus-point demolition of Leinster in the United Rugby Championship earlier this month.

Dan Sheehan is set to captain Ireland for the second time at Soldier Field this weekend, while Leinster prop Paddy McCarthy is in line for a Test debut off the bench.

Head coach Farrell has included Jamie Osborne, Tommy O'Brien and James Lowe in the Ireland back three, with Stuart McCloskey partnering Garry Ringrose in the centres.

Crowley partners Jamison Gibson-Park in the halfbacks.

Up front, Andrew Porter, captain Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong are in the front row, with James Ryan and Tadhg Beirne in the engine room, and a back row of Ryan Baird at blindside flanker, Josh van der Flier at openside and Jack Conan at number eight completing Ireland's starting XV.

"It is a real privilege to be back here in Chicago ahead of a huge game against New Zealand," said Farrell.

"We've been received brilliantly by the local community and there are going to be thousands of Irish supporters cheering us on which is something that will inspire the team."

Meanwhile, All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has mostly stuck with his tried and tested, rewarding the players who secured back-to-back victories over the Wallabies to wrap up the Rugby Championship.

Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke both started in their 33-24 triumph over Australia at Eden Park but picked up injuries which forced them to miss the reverse fixture in Perth. However, they have recovered from their injury issues and will start at flyhalf and wing, respectively, with Damian McKenzie and Leicester Fainga'anuku dropping to the bench.

Robertson has opted to keep Quinn Tupaea at centre after the Chiefs star impressed with his two-try showing in Perth.

Clarke joins Leroy Carter and Will Jordan in the back three while Barrett once again partners Cam Roigard in the key decision-making positions.

Up front, the loose trio from Perth remains as Peter Lakai starts ahead of Wallace Sititi at number eight and joins flankers Ardie Savea and Simon Parker in the back row.

An injury to Tupou Vaa'i means that Fabian Holland gets to partner captain Scott Barrett in the engine room, while Fletcher Newell, Codie Taylor and De Groot are the front-row trio.

"This is an awesome match to kick off our Northern Tour with. Ireland are a strong side and will have a loud contingent of supporters here in Chicago, so we are prepared for a passionate clash on the Soldier Field stage," Robertson said.

"We have had a great week together leading up to the Test and now we are looking forward to the contest on Saturday afternoon."
