Dominant Stormers put Bulls to the sword to set up URC home semifinal

A dominant performance from champions Stormers set up a United Rugby Championship (URC) semi-final with Connacht after a 33-21 victory over the Bulls in front of 46,888 in Cape Town.

The Stormers enjoyed the majority of possession and crossed for tries from Hacjivah Dayimani, Leolin Zas and Angel Davids, with Manie Libbok kicking all seven shots at goal for a personal haul of 18 points to take his tally for the season to 185.

Cyle Brink, Embrose Papier and Bismarck du Plessis crossed for the outclassed visitors with Johan Goosen adding a conversion and Chris Smith two.

Dayimani would scored the first five-pointer, cantering in to finish off a move that started with a break from Libbok.

The home team continued their dream start by extending their lead to 17 points when Zas dotted down on his return to the team, following more good work from Libbok.

The visitors reduced the deficit to just 10 points when Brink atoned for his earlier yellow card by reaching over the tryline just before the break.

The Stormers though pulled a away after the halftime break as a penalty from Libbok and try in the cormer by wing Zas gave them a 20-point lead.

Embrose Papier pulled a try back for the Bulls but Libbok again showed his prowess from the kicking tee even though Bismarck du Plessis went in for consolation score after the hooter.
