The bout will consist of ten rounds and the winner will be crowned the Baltic Boxing Union lightweight champion.
In an exclusive sit-down with SABC Sport, the experienced South African offered his thoughts on the 11th title fight of his career.
“To get the opportunity to fight for a prestigious title after my latest run of results is a big blessing on my end. I’m very excited to deliver on the night,” Rajuili said.
“I was down in South Africa for three and a half weeks, training with Ludumo Lamati, the son of boxing in South Africa and a great friend of mine, who taught me a few additional things. Going back to my roots has left me refreshed and ready for this fight.”
Not only is Rajuili fighting on November 29, but the calculated puncher has also been invited to fight in Munich, Germany before the year comes to a close.
The 36-year-old’s mindset is proof that the best ability in the fight game is availability.
“In life I always believe that you reap what you sow. I was telling Vusi Mtolo that there was a time here in Germany where I had six fights in the space of a year. They call me the pound-for-pound boxer because I’ve fought at lightweight, super-lightweight, and welterweight,” he added.
“I think the promoters keep on calling me because they know I bring excitement to the ring. I’ve been based in Germany for the past five years and in that time I have faced cutthroat competition, including four Olympians. Irrespective if I lose on paper, in the eyes of boxing fans I’m actually winning to be called over and over again.”
Rajuili also mentioned that it has been approximately two years since he last called a promoter.
Instead, the promoters are always calling him. Over the years, he has trained diligently in Germany to remain active and hungry.
He never had any major sponsors when he was a young fighter, but sheer belief in his abilities has been his main driving force.
Rajuili asserts, that with belief, anything is possible in the sport of boxing.
Inspired by the story of Brian Mitchell, who always fought so valiantly outside of South Africa, David Rajuili seeks not only victory on November 29, but also to win over the hearts of fans, like he has done countless times before.
