Conrad was reacting after the first day of their warm-up match against Zimbabwe was rained out without a single ball bowled, saying they need more overs today to compensate as a result.
He says they’ve otherwise had good preparations since arriving in the country on Saturday morning.
"It wouldn't be the UK if we didn't have this, you know. So, fortunately we have two really good days [of training], including a full day [on Monday]," said Conrad.
"And it is what it is, there was always going to be a rest day for the bowlers today – we were hoping to win the toss and bat.
"I'm really happy with the first couple of days, but it is disappointing [not to be able to play], yeah."
Conrad says it’s important to have playing time in this match, so the players can get some mileage under their belts ahead of the all-important one-off Test at Lord’s.
"It is to spend some time at the wicket, and bowlers to get some more miles in the legs, that's pretty much what this four-day game was going to be about anyway," he added.
"The batters to take control of their preparations – how much they want out of it and what they want out of it, I'm not going to determine that for them."
