The Dutch attacker was in superb form on Wednesday night, scoring twice in Spurs' thrilling 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. His performance earned him the UEFA Man of the Match award, capping an influential display in a high-stakes encounter.
Despite the European success, Simons quickly turned attention to Sunday's crucial home clash against Nottingham Forest. With just eight league games remaining, the margins are tight.
Spurs sit only one point above both Forest and West Ham United, who occupy the relegation zone, while 15th-placed Leeds United are two points ahead and viewed as a realistic target to catch.
"Now, every game is a final for us. Not only Sunday, but it starts on Sunday and we have to keep this momentum," Simons told SPURSPLAY.
"I think it's really good from tonight and we have to bring on Sunday that energy as well. If the energy, the passion and the desire to win is there, we will win.
"We know every game that we're playing at home, how important it is. Of course, things didn't go the way we wanted this season, but I'm really grateful for the way they're trying to help us. What I would say to them is please try to help us in the next game."
The importance of the upcoming fixture has not been lost within the squad. Team-mate Micky van de Ven labelled the Forest encounter as "massive", reflecting the high stakes involved as Tottenham battle to secure their top-flight status.
