Stellenbosch made it three consecutive wins in the Betway Premiership after a convincing 3-0 victory against Golden Arrows at the Mpumalanga Stadium.

There was one goal scored in the first half and it came after 14 minutes when Devin Titus found the back of the net following an effort from outside the box.

The visitors were not content to just sit on their lead and doubled the advantage with 20 minutes remaining when substitute Lesiba Nku got his name on the scoresheet.

Stellies then sealed the victory just a minute later when Thabo Moloisane leaped highest to head in the third goal.

The three points for the team from the Cape Winelands was important as the continue to fight for a top three finish in the Betway Premiership and subsequent qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

SuperSport take huge step forward in relegation battle

SuperSport United took a huge step towards saving relegation from the Betway Premiership after a 2-0 win against Chippa United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Bradley Grobler opened the scoring after 17 minutes as Matsatsantsa took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Andre Arendse's charges then asserted their dominance in the contest when Christian Saile doubled the lead just after the interval with a beautiful curling effort.

The victory moves SuperSport up to 26 points, three above the relegation playoff position, with five games of their league campaign still remaining.

Chippa themselves remain in a dogfight to finish in the top-eight positions after they fell to their 12th defeat of the league season.

Sekhukhune United held to draw but climb back into top three

Sekhukhune United reclaimed third spot on the Betway Premiership table despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Magesi FC on Saturday evening.

Magesi struck early in the match, capitalising just three minutes after Kayden Rademeyer was forced off with injury in the 11th minute.

Full-back Delano Abrahams finished smartly from the right side of the six-yard box in the 14th minute to put the visitors ahead.

Sekhukhune responded with increasing pressure, and nearly equalised before the break. Tlou Masegela squandered a close-range chance following a pinpoint cross from John Mokone, while Elvis Chipezeze was called into action to deny Thabang Monare's powerful header. Monare was replaced at halftime by Lesedi Kapinga in a tactical switch.

The hosts continued to threaten from set-pieces, with Tresor Yamba and Keletso Makgalwa orchestrating corner routines that troubled the Magesi defence.

Their persistence paid off inside the final ten minutes when Chibuike Ohizu levelled with a composed finish from the centre of the box.

Sekhukhune pushed for a winner, and Yamba nearly snatched all three points, heading just over from a Vusimuzi Mncube delivery.
