Selaelo Rasebotja backs Orlando Pirates teammates as rehab continues

Orlando Pirates midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja is continuing with his rehabilitation from injury, and is not bothered about his place in the team.

The Buccaneers are buzzing at the moment, with competition for spots in the team all the more tough – particularly in the no. 8 role.

But the former SuperSport United FC attacker feels the need to support his teammates.

"I think I'm in a good place, I'm receiving a lot of support from the club while being out, and my focus now is just to do my rehab as diligently as possible and it's my time to also give support to the guys that are playing, and those who have joined the team," said Rasebotja.

Rasebotja is currently one among a number of Pirates players still undergoing rehabilitation, together with Deano van Rooyen and Thabiso Sesane, and shared an update on his progress.

"I think I'm still in the early stages of my rehab, and my focus is just to do it as best as I can, so that I can be ready in time to fight for my place in the team and do well for the club," he added.

Pirates and Siwelele FC were drawn against each other in the Carling Knockout Round of 16 yesterday, with the two sides also meeting tonight in the Betway Premiership.

Rasebotja is optimistic they can to do the double over the Bloemfontein-based outfit.

"I think it's going to be a very interesting fixture against Siwelele, considering the fact that we're playing them in [the space of] a couple of days.

"Whatever outcome from that [league] game will be a good lesson going into the Carling Knockout fixture, and we also hope to do much better than last season in the competition and hopefully go all the way."
