Kaizer Chiefs targeting all three points against Sekhukhune on Sunday

Kaizer Chiefs' CAF Confederation Cup hopes once again are on the line on Sunday at Peter Mokaba Stadium against a Sekhukhune United side who sit in mid-table ahead of the match.

Kaizer Chiefs sit in fourth place on 41 points, while Sekhukhune United are placed seventh on 32 points. With five matches to play, Kaizer Chiefs trail third-placed Orlando Pirates by two points for a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup. Sekhukhune United are 11 points outside of the tournament spot.

The previous PSL fixture between the sides saw Sekhukhune Utd emerge victorious 1-0 at FNB Stadium (Soccer City) in January. Vusimuzi Mncube scored for Sekhukhune United in the 49th minute.

This is the fourth league meeting between the teams last season Chiefs completed a league double over Sekhukhune winning 2-0 at home and then 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Ellis Park Stadium on the 14th May 2022. On that occasion Ramahlwe Mphahlele scored the games only goal to hand Chiefs the win, heading home in the 38th minute.

Current Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane stood in for then Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter when Chiefs won 2-0 at home last season against Sekhukhune United on the 12th December 2021. In that game Nkosingiphile Ngcobo scored in the 24th minute with Phathutshedzo Nange scoring a second in the 87th minute.
