Sekhukhune United in advanced talks with Bradley Grobler

SABC Sport can confirm Sekhukhune United have made progress in talks with forward Bradley Grobler, who is a priority target for coach Eric Tinkler ahead of next season.

The 37-year-old will effectively be a free agent at the end of the month, should Matsatsantsa not extend his contract, and the uncertainty of the club's future has also delayed any renewal talks.

Grobler has been at SuperSport since 2013 and had become a loyal servant of the club, despite interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates over the years.

But information gathered by the public broadcaster suggests Babina Noko are confident they can take advantage of the vulnerable situation of their Betway Premiership rivals and lure Grobler away.

Tinkler, who succeeded Lehlohonolo Seema at Sekhukhune in March, is also a huge admirer of the goal machine, who he previously worked with at SuperSport between 2017 and 2018.

Sekhukhune relied heavily on Chibuike Ohizu and Andy Boyeli to lead their attack line last season, with Samekele Sihlali then being introduced later on.

They are now keen to strengthen that department with Grobler, who is likely to enter into what could be his final big contract in topflight football.

It’s understood the finer details are still being ironed out, however, Sekhukhune have tabled an offer that Grobler has already accepted in principle, subject to all paperwork being signed and approved.
