Orlando Pirates close in on AmaZulu winger

Moremi had a stellar season under coach Arthur Zwane as Usuthu eventually managed a top eight finish in the Betway Premiership despite a poor start that led them to sacking Pablo Franco Martin.

The Buccaneers were impressed with Moremi managing 28 league matches and now part of the Bafana Bafana squad following a recent call-up.

While on national team duty, Moremi told the media of his wish to be part of coach Hugo Broos’ upcoming Africa Cup of Nations side as well as the FIFA World Cup next year should Bafana make it.

His imminent move to Pirates will be further evidence of his growth as a player since coming through the Usuthu junior ranks and a loan spell at Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit JDR Stars.

It’s understood the Soweto giants could be preparing for life without Monnapule Saleng, who has been frozen out since December last year, by targeting to get the Moremi deal over the line.

The winger still has one year left on his AmaZulu contract meaning Pirates are prepared to spend to get him out early.

Talks are now advanced according to information given to SABC Sport and it is likely Moremi will move to Pirates in the coming days.
