Retrenched Cape Town City star resurfaces at TS Galaxy

SABC Sport can confirm that former Cape Town City defender Patrick Fisher has signed with Betway Premiership side TS Galaxy.

Fisher made his breakthrough four years ago under coach Eric Tinkler, earning promotion to City’s senior team and going on to make 25 appearances.

His time at the club came to an end after their relegation to the lower division last season.

Sources reveal Fisher was among the players retrenched at the end of the previous campaign due to financial constraints, as City slashed their budget following their drop from the top flight.

The right-back has now resurfaced at Galaxy, securing a long-term deal as the club looks to bolster its squad.

Galaxy were recently cleared to make new signings after successfully overturning a FIFA-imposed transfer ban.

The Rockets had been sanctioned for failing to settle development compensation fees, which saw them limited to just 14 players in their opening two matches this season.

With the embargo lifted, Galaxy have moved swiftly in the market, and Fisher becomes their latest addition, and he is expected to add depth and stability to coach Adnan Beganovic’s side for the rest of the campaign.
