Junior Zindoga: Nedbank Cup to define TS Galaxy season

TS Galaxy attacker Junior Zindoga believes a place in the Nedbank Cup final could define their season.

The Rockets host Milford FC in Sunday’s semifinal at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, entering as favourites from the Betway Premiership against second-tier opposition. Zindoga says the squad fully understands the magnitude of the occasion.

"Definitely, I think it's semi-final, a chance to be in the final doesn't get bigger than that. Trying to get as many domestic trophies as we can and this is the biggest one in the country. So, everyone is prepared and mentally focused for the game on the weekend," Zindoga said.

According to the winger, what will make going all the way in the cup even more special is the fact that Galaxy have a relatively new team this campaign.

Zindoga also joined late last year from Marumo Gallants.

"I think it's a big one for us, you know, tryna get some silverware, it's an opportunity that we don't usually get, you know to be in the semi-final and we've come a long way. We've added a few new players, so it's a special one for us and hopefully we walk away with a trophy," he added.

On a personal note, Zindoga has been getting a lot of advice from a one-time Nedbank Cup winner Bernard Parker – now Galaxy assistant coach.

"I mean that's an all time legend you know, I'm pretty close to him so I do get a lot of advice from him. He does work a lot with the attackers so he's always giving us tips and what to do and what positions to get into, even just before the game as well and he's Chiefs all time top goal scorer.

“He's played at a World Cup, he's played at AFCON so there's no one better to get advice from."
