Doctor Khumalo bullied by SAFA NEC member on Banyana Banyana stance

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana player Doctor Khumalo has opened up on disrespectful text messages he received from SAFA NEC member Monde Montshiwa.

Montshiwa, one of the longest-serving members in the SAFA NEC, having occupied this seat since 2009 was criticized by Bafana legend and SABC Sport analyst Doctor Khumalo on SoccerZone last night, on a matter related to his current SAFA and Banyana Banyana stand-off.

"You know I got a message from a Monde Montshiwa, SAFA NEC member that Chiefs didn't give me a job, Pirates and SAFA doesn't owe me a cent and they didn't even offer me [a job],” Khumalo said.

“The unfortunate part is that it was a personal attack but he forgot that the NEC members that are there, are just there occupying the space because this is a South African entity.

“Any individual in this country is allowed to eco anything regarding football. The sad thing is that he exposed that NEC members don't know anything about local football, he has exposed that. I was just minding my business and he's busy swearing at me."

Khumalo, a member of the 1996 AFCON-winning and 1998 World Cup-qualifying men’s national team, also confirmed that he had been to the Banyana camp to motivate and support the players’ stance on bonus-related issues as Bafana had suffered a similar fate during his playing days.

"I've got a right to question the president Danny Jordaan about what transpires, irrespective of which platform I'm using, because we saw something that has never happened in the history of South Africa [football],” Khumalo added.

“I've just told you guys that this happened to us way back when we were going to play England. The poor ladies, I was there on Friday just to give them motivation before they go to the World Cup, and on Saturday that is what was going to happen [the Banyana boycott]. This man is a SAFA president but we can't point a finger at Danny, it's the entire NEC."
