The side led by Thomas Tuchel produced an impressive second-half display to secure a 4-2 victory in their Group L opener and can book a place in the knockout stages with another win in Boston.
However, Ghana will also fancy their chances after defeating Panama and arriving full of confidence for the showdown.
Speaking ahead of the match, Rice warned that England could be punished if they drop their intensity against the Black Stars, an outfit difficult to analyse following the appointment of Carlos Queiroz shortly before the tournament.
"We know as players that we have to build on the second half performance from the other night. We've watched two of their previous games, obviosuly they've had a change in manager as well but we have prepared for them like we have before for any other team. They have really good players so if we aren't at 100% we will be punished."
Rice said he would also rely on his knowledge of the Ghana players he has faced in the English Premier League, especially with the Black Stars expected to welcome back former Arsenal teammate Thomas Partey.
Both Rice and Tuchel were asked about striker and captain Harry Kane, who arrived at the World Cup having scored 36 goals in the German Bundesliga for Bayern Munich and has already bagged two for England in the competition
Tuchel added that as much as Kane is an important figure, he also lifts those who do not get as much attention.
"Harry is a key player, he's our captain, goalscorer, and as a personality there is no doubt that he is a key player. The most important thing is that everyone buys into the idea that we're doing this as a team and that makes it really special. The very big players take care of everyone and that's the spirit we are using to attack the tournament."
